💌 Sugar Q: “Why won’t my mom help me with my college applications?”

Hey Sugar 💕, Auntea Chelly gets this one — because she lived it.

“I was the oldest and first in my family to go to college. My parents didn’t know how to help — they just knew I was going.”

Sometimes, your mom isn’t holding back on purpose. She might not know what steps to take. But that doesn’t mean she doesn’t care.

💡 The Tea:

Your mom can’t give what she never got. She’s cheering you on in her own way — even if she’s not sitting next to you filling out forms.

Ask for help from your village — teachers, counselors, your favorite auntie, even the admissions office at local colleges. The help you need might be closer than you think. 🌸

💬 Sugar Q: “How can I convince my parents to let me date?”

Let’s be real — this one’s tricky. 😅

Auntea Chelly says, don’t start by convincing. Start by communicating.

“My mom had a no-dating rule, but I was dating anyway — secretly! I wish I had just talked to her about it.”

She later learned that her mom’s “no” came from fear — wanting her to focus on school and stay safe.

💡 The Tea:

Ask your parents why they feel the way they do, then share your side. When you open up honestly, they’re more likely to trust you. And remember: dating is a responsibility, not just a vibe. ❤️

👊🏽 Sugar Q: “Should I stand up for my friend if we’re outnumbered?”

Whew. This one’s real.

“My friend was ready to fight. I looked at her like — girl, this may not go the way you think.”

Auntea Chelly’s Brooklyn roots kicked in. She knew when to hold ‘em and when to fold ‘em. Not every fight is worth catching hands for.

💡 The Tea:

Being a real friend doesn’t always mean throwing punches. Sometimes, standing up means helping your friend walk away.

If it’s dangerous — find an adult, call for help, or defuse it. Being brave isn’t about fighting. It’s about thinking. 🧠✨

✨ Sugar Q: “Can I talk myself into having more confidence?”

Yes, Sugar — but it starts with knowing who you are.

“Everyone has a bit of magic. You just have to find yours.”

Auntea Chelly says confidence isn’t about being the loudest or flashiest. It’s about owning your strengths — the quiet ones, the creative ones, the different ones.

💡 The Tea:

Stop copying everyone else’s highlight reel. Your shine looks best when it’s yours. 🌟

💋 Simi’s Sip

You don’t need to be like anyone else to stand out. Your power is already in you — your story, your smile, your voice.

Take your time, Sugar. You’re exactly who you’re supposed to be becoming.

Not a lecture, just a sip of tea. ☕💖
