Auntea: Morgan Renee Sillsā˜•

Topic:Ā Confidence, balance, and redefining beauty

šŸ’ŒĀ Sugar Q: ā€œAuntea, can I really do both — be smart and stylish?ā€

Morgan laughed. ā€œYes, baby — and don’t let anyone tell you different!ā€

She’s living proof. šŸ‘šŸ¾Ā A Howard Law graduateĀ and model, Auntea Morgan’s journey flows between fashion and activism — and she’s rocking both lanes like a pro.

She started modeling at 13 (shoutout to BarbizonĀ girls šŸ’…šŸ½), took a detour into basketball, then circled back to fashion later in life — this time, fully owning her confidence and creativity.

šŸ’”Ā The Tea:

You’re allowed to evolve. You can love sneakers andĀ stilettos — law books andĀ lipstick.

šŸ–¤Ā Sugar Q: ā€œHow did you know law was for you?ā€

ā€œI didn’t — at first,ā€ she admitted.

After college, Morgan joined the Peace CorpsĀ and lived in Morocco before returning to the U.S. to work for Color of Change, a racial justice organization.

But something was missing. ā€œI realized I didn’t know the law well enough to fight for change the way I wanted to,ā€ she said. So she took a leap and applied to Howard University School of Law.

šŸ’”Ā The Tea:

Purpose doesn’t always show up in a straight line. Sometimes it takes a few pivots — and a prayer.

šŸ›ļøĀ Sugar Q: ā€œTell us about Vintage & Charmed — we heard it’s the spot!ā€

ā€œYes! It’s a Black-owned boutique in the Anacostia Arts Center,ā€ Morgan smiled. ā€œEverything is secondhand, couture, or upcycled by local designers. Nothing’s fast fashion — every piece has a story.ā€

She works there part-time while balancing her day job at IBM.

šŸ’”Ā The Tea:

Your side passion doesn’t have to stay ā€œon the side.ā€ It can refill your joy while you chase your goals. ✨

šŸŒžĀ Sugar Q: ā€œWhat’s your morning ritual, Auntea?ā€

ā€œThe first thing I do is pray,ā€ she said. ā€œBefore I grab my phone or scroll, I thank God for my health, safety, and family. Then I play meditation or affirmation music — usually Tony Jones — and speak life over my day.ā€

šŸ’”Ā The Tea:Ā

Gratitude is the best beauty secret. It centers your spirit beforeĀ the world tries to shake it. šŸ™šŸ¾

šŸ’„Ā Sugar Q: ā€œWhat is beauty?ā€

ā€œI wish I could tell you I’ve always felt beautiful,ā€ she said softly. ā€œBut even as an adult, I have to remind myself.ā€

Between modeling gigs and law classes, she’s faced every kind of criticism — too tall, too dark, too skinny, too curvy, too natural. ā€œAt some point, I stopped trying to fix what other people didn’t like and started loving myself louder.ā€

šŸ’”Ā The Tea:Ā

Confidence is the real contour. No filter can compete with peace.

šŸ’”Ā Sugar Q: ā€œCan you love someone too much?ā€

ā€œYes, you can,ā€ she said gently. ā€œIf your love for them makes you forget to love yourself, it’s too much.ā€

She told a story about a past relationship where someone asked her to cut her locks. ā€œI thought about it — then stopped. My hair is part of who I am. If loving you means erasing me, that’s not love.ā€

šŸ’”Ā The Tea:Ā

Real love doesn’t shrink you — it sees you.

šŸ’‹Ā Simi’s Sip

You can’t pour from an empty cup, sugar. Protect your peace, honor your purpose, and keep evolving — no matter what anyone says.

You’re already becoming everything you dreamed of. šŸ’–

Not a lecture, just a sip of tea.Ā ā˜•šŸ’–
