Morgan laughed. “Yes, baby — and don’t let anyone tell you different!”

She’s living proof. 👏🏾 A Howard Law graduate and model, Auntea Morgan’s journey flows between fashion and activism — and she’s rocking both lanes like a pro.

She started modeling at 13 (shoutout to Barbizon girls 💅🏽), took a detour into basketball, then circled back to fashion later in life — this time, fully owning her confidence and creativity.

You’re allowed to evolve. You can love sneakers and stilettos — law books and lipstick.

🖤 Sugar Q: “How did you know law was for you?”

“I didn’t — at first,” she admitted.

After college, Morgan joined the Peace Corps and lived in Morocco before returning to the U.S. to work for Color of Change, a racial justice organization.

But something was missing. “I realized I didn’t know the law well enough to fight for change the way I wanted to,” she said. So she took a leap and applied to Howard University School of Law.

Purpose doesn’t always show up in a straight line. Sometimes it takes a few pivots — and a prayer.

🛍️ Sugar Q: “Tell us about Vintage & Charmed — we heard it’s the spot!”

“Yes! It’s a Black-owned boutique in the Anacostia Arts Center,” Morgan smiled. “Everything is secondhand, couture, or upcycled by local designers. Nothing’s fast fashion — every piece has a story.”

She works there part-time while balancing her day job at IBM.

🌞 Sugar Q: “What’s your morning ritual, Auntea?”

“The first thing I do is pray,” she said. “Before I grab my phone or scroll, I thank God for my health, safety, and family. Then I play meditation or affirmation music — usually Tony Jones — and speak life over my day.”

Gratitude is the best beauty secret. It centers your spirit before the world tries to shake it. 🙏🏾

💄 Sugar Q: “What is beauty?”

“I wish I could tell you I’ve always felt beautiful,” she said softly. “But even as an adult, I have to remind myself.”

Between modeling gigs and law classes, she’s faced every kind of criticism — too tall, too dark, too skinny, too curvy, too natural. “At some point, I stopped trying to fix what other people didn’t like and started loving myself louder.”

Confidence is the real contour. No filter can compete with peace.

💔 Sugar Q: “Can you love someone too much?”

“Yes, you can,” she said gently. “If your love for them makes you forget to love yourself, it’s too much.”

She told a story about a past relationship where someone asked her to cut her locks. “I thought about it — then stopped. My hair is part of who I am. If loving you means erasing me, that’s not love.”
