When Auntie Tia talks beauty, she means more than makeup — she’s talking about confidence.

Growing up in Southeast DC, her mom ran a hair salon, so Tia’s first “job” was folding towels for $50 a week. “I was so hype about that 50 bucks,” she laughs. “I’d go buy sneakers right after.” 👟

By 12, she was shampooing hair. By 20, she’d found her passion for makeup — inspired by a fabulous artist named Butch at her mom’s salon.

“He would come in so fabulous, and I just thought — I want to be him! I didn’t even know this could be a real job.”

Fast forward: Tia became a top MAC Cosmetics artist before launching her own brand, House of Styles — complete with candles, masks, and glam essentials made for every kind of woman.

“When people leave my chair feeling beautiful, I’ve done my job.”
